The college is situated in the heart of the city, near central bus stand. It was established in 1984. The college has been recognized and aided by Government of Karnataka and Department of Pre University Education, Bangalore. It conducts Pre University Level (+2) courses in Arts, Science & Commerce. The college campus covers a vast area of 6 acres, comprising of the all infrastructure facilities like spacious class rooms, laboratories, library, administrative unit and a huge playground.

 The college has been assessed and accredited with ‘A’ grade by the Dept. of Pre University Education, Bangalore for imparting quality education, academic excellence and infrastructure.

Aim of education is to pass on knowledge in a fixed and unilateral conditions of the soul. It also gives the students moral and intellectual armor. Following the trend of the previous year’s academic accomplishments; many students are securing centum in science and above ninety in Arts and Commerce subjects, even this year also, many of our students have excelled and got state distinctions in board exam. This has enabled our college to sustain one of top positions in the District.

It was once the capital of Adil Shahi Kingdom and has a rich tradition and valuable treasure of literature, Art and Architecture. It is world famous for the Indo-Persian monuments like Golgumbaz, Ibrahim Roza, Asar Mahal, Narasimha Temple etc. As a tourist place, Bijapur attracts tourists from all over the world. In the North Karnataka it is emerging as an important academic centre with various educational institutions being established in the city.

 The SECAB Association Bijapur founded by visionary Mr.S.A.Punekar in 1969 is a leading educational institution in the district. During the last 42 years the progress has been remarkable and it has been successful in running 22 institutions right from Kindergarten, Primary and High Schools in English, Kannada and Urdu Medium, P.U.Colleges for Boys and Girls, Degree College for Women, B.B.A., B.C.A., Polytechnic, Architecture, Engineering, Unani Medicine, Para Medical and M.B.A. with its enrollment of about 10,000 students in various courses.
